House Beautiful!
In in the May 2015 newsletter, we announced that the City of Evanston had awarded Rimland a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the City of Evanston to renovate our Hartrey South residence, home to four residents. The home was renovated to better accommodate wheelchairs and to meet Rimland standards that are durable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.
Renovations included widening doorways and shower doors to accommodate wheelchairs and lowering lighting switches for easier access.
The kitchen and bathroom were remodeled, and the flooring throughout the residence was replaced with durable and sustainable porcelain to meet Rimland’s new standards for our residences.
The renovations are complete and the ladies love their updated home!
The City of Evanston uses its CDBG funds to further community development objectives focusing on low- and moderate-income families and neighborhoods to provide decent housing, to provide a suitable living environment, and to expand economic opportunities.
