Join Rimland this October for a landmark event and a celebration of our history!
We are pleased to announce details of Rimland’s 45th Anniversary Benefit Celebration on October 14 and 15, 2016. On Friday, October 14, come celebrate 45 years of service with jazz with the Dave Jennings Trio, dancing, dining, visionary art, a “wine pull,” and more during a fun-filled evening at our Evanston headquarters, emceed by ABC news anchor Judy Hsu. Benefit tickets are $100, and proceeds will help to establish an endowment fund to support the long-term sustainability of Rimland Services. The weekend’s festivities will culminate in a Visionary Outsider Art Show, open to the public at no cost, on Saturday, October 15. Friday benefit attendees will have an opportunity to preview and purchase artworks in advance of Saturday’s art show.
We are grateful to the 45th Anniversary Benefit Committee for their efforts in the event planning. Bob Bradish, recently retired Senior Vice President of Strategy and Sales for Kraft Foods and its spin-off, Mondelez International, and Rimland family member Nina Yoo, a former Senior Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, serve as the committee’s chair and vice-chair. Other committee members include:
Steve Levitt
Ann Moltz
Helen O’Shaughnessy
Laura Salter
Nicole Schnitzler
Paula Wiggins
Rimland is also privileged to have a team of nationally recognized individuals serving on the art selection committee for the Visionary Outsider Art Show. Intuit, the Chicago Center for Outsider Art, describes visionary outsider artists as demonstrating “little influence from the mainstream art world and who instead are motivated by their unique personal visions.” We expect to see submissions of art in the areas of painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist book, ceramics, stained glass, and sculpture. Art selection committee members include:
Rebecca Hoffberger – Founder, American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore, MD.
Pam Horowitz – The Pamela S. Horowitz & H. Julian Bond Outsider Art Collection, Washington, DC
Judith Joseph – Chicago North Shore artist & arts educator
Larry Singer – Director, Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy, Loyola University of Chicago School of Law
Cleo Wilson – President, Intuit, the Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art
Joe Wilkinson – Bill Traylor collector since 1978
We look forward to celebrating with you in October!
