Ben Wolf and the ACLU’s Institutionalized Persons Project have consistently challenged the systemic abuse and neglect of the most helpless of our citizens in the courts — the only forum in which they could stand on equal footing with government officials and agencies that too frequently fail to provide safe and livable conditions. He will talk about the following subjects and take questions from the audience:
- Voting rights of adults with autism,
- Other rights of adults with developmental disabilities, and
- Update on the Ligas litigation regarding community-based services.
Doors open at 6:45 p.m. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m., with a half an hour to mingle after the program. Seating is limited, so please register in advance by contacting Amy Werner at awerner@rimland.org or call 847.328.4090 ext. 227. Kathy Miller can also be contacted with event inquiries at 847.227.7174
