Spring is finally here! And with the warmer weather comes Special Olympics Spring Games. Special Olympics hosts 19 spring games events throughout the state of Illinois, including last month’s swim meet held at Lake Forest College. On April 17, a group of individuals supported by Rimland participated in the Special Olympics Illinois Area 18 track and field meet at Mount Prospect High School.

Rimland’s entrants joined with Special Olympics Illinois athletes from North Suburban Cook County in several events, including the softball throw, the 100 meter speed walk, and the 100 meter run. Rimland’s athletes received various awards for their efforts, including silver and bronze medals. We are proud of all of our participants!
