Orlando Magic!
From October 12-16, we took our annual trip to Orlando, Florida, to enjoy sun, fun, and, of course, Disney’s Magic Kingdom. This year’s excursion included our largest group ever to make the trip: All told, 17 participants traveled to Florida, including 12 clients and five staff members.
The group was delighted to experience the cheery sights, sounds, and attractions at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. In addition to the Cinderella Castle and the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, we were thrilled to see some of our favorite Disney characters, from Mickey and Minnie to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Outside the theme park, we toured downtown Disney Springs and enjoyed a waterfront lunch on the dock of the Boathouse restaurant.
A waterfront lunch
A memorable highlight of the trip was a cruise on the St. John’s River in an authentic sternwheel paddleboat. The ship was over 100 feet long and had five decks and two paddlewheels that recalled the picturesque steamboats of days gone by. The cruise allowed us to observe the abundant wildlife in the area, such as turtles and alligators along the riverbanks and a wide variety of birds, from osprey, eagles, and herons to exotic “snakebirds.” The river cruise was punctuated by a lunch freshly prepared on the boat, live music, and even a little dancing!
Amid our many adventures, our intrepid travelers took plenty of time to relax at the rental house resort, where entertainment featured the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, a country vaudeville show of singing, dancing, and comedy. Other highlights of our trip included slip-sliding on waterslides, riding the waves on jet skis, and poolside fun at the resort.
Now that we’re home, we can’t wait to go back!
