Like so many other parents who have disabled adult children, I started to visit various agencies and came across Rimland. Although letting my daughter live somewhere else was maybe the hardest choice in my life, I knew it was the best decision for her. Within the first day she was with Rimland, she adjusted so well. Every time I visit her at her group home, she is smiling and happy. I can never thank Rimland enough for the kind loving care they provide.

A lovin’ spoonful of PB&J

Rimland clients have begun monthly visits to the Campus Kitchen at Northwestern University to help prepare peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for children in the Evanston community who don’t have lunch at their schools. A national leader in creating community service opportunities for students, Campus Kitchen partners with Northwestern and other universities and high schools to share on-campus kitchen space, to recover food from cafeterias, and to engage volunteers who prepare and deliver food to the community. The hour-long visits to Campus Kitchen enable Rimland clients to engage and develop skills while making meaningful contributions to the community. Plus, who doesn’t love PB&J?
