Wisconsin

Our son is nonverbal, but by his body language, we gather that he is proud, happy, he feels accepted and important, and that he belongs to an extended family – Rimland. Rimland nurtures his self-esteem, structures his daily activities, and installs goals. He used to be crabby, but now we often see him smile.

This fall, several groups from Rimland’s Developmental Training Program took a day trip to Apple Holler apple orchard located in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. The orchard includes the popular Golden Goat Bridge, with baby goats that clients were able to feed.

Participants also enjoyed walking through the Crazy Corn Maze while the groups waited for the wagon ride to begin. The wagon ride took participants on a tour throughout the entire farm, dropping them off at the end to pick red and green apples. After apple picking, they enjoyed soft serve ice cream.
